The reason I have chosen manga is that I watched a movie called dragon ball revolution and It is based on the animation dragon ball. Not just doing dragon ball z but a range of other anime animations.

Main chareacters: Felix and Zelda

Based in WW2(world war II) a Jewish boy named Felix has been hidden away in a Catholic Orphanage, until one day he believes his parents are coming back for him because of his soup which has a carrot in it, thinking it’s a sign that his parents will come back for him and later that night a car arrives Felix thinking that it is his parents when it’s not a band of nazi soldiers show up burning all the books, the orphanage owns. The nazi soldiers storm the house checking to make sure that there are no more books Felix runs away looking for his parents and finds out that they are dead and instead meets a girl called Zelda and start on an amazing journey.

What I liked
How Morris gleitzman can turn something bad and make it funny.

Morris Gleitzman communicates his idea that by making something that isn’t funny, upsetting and boring and adds humour to his story’s like in two weeks with the queen he makes colin a naive narrator when his brother has cancer and make colin go to england and go to buckingham palace and make the queen give him the best doctor in the world through the events of his novel.

In particular, when in another one of his novels Once about a jewish boy hidden away in a catholic orphanage by his parents while going through the holocaust and thinks his parents will come back to get him and starts making up stories in his mind like because his parents know he likes carrots he thinks that they have put it in his supper.

This proves that he will take an upsetting story and add humour in the from of a naive narrator ( like colin or felix from once) and through a series of events both characters very determined to do anything for their cause having a character, Colin going from being jealous of his brother “Serves you right” thought Colin ” for having three lots of ice cream with your chrissie pudding.” This shows that in the start of the book (page 7) that he was very jealous and selfish and then becoming a caring and selfless brother who only cares about his family “I know you’re really busy here and everything but you’ve got to come to Australia and fix up Luke. They reckon he’s gunna die but I reckon they’re being slack and you can do it, I know you can.” This shows that he is becoming a better person and would interrupt a doctor’s round just to get him to cure his brother.

Morris Gleitzman has two morals in his story that gay people should be treated the same way as anyone else is treated and shouldn’t be treated in any other manner.

As the book continues Colin isn’t the only one growing up his cousin, Alistair goes from being shy and scared to brave and fearless. ” Alistair slammed his fist onto the table cups, saucers and both his parents jumped into the air.” He’s going,’said Alistair, looking steadily at his mother and father, ‘ and that’s final”.

This shows that he is starting to speak up for him for himself.

In my conclusion using my evidence to show how Colin has changed into a thoughtful person.

Colin changed and learns that if he is selfless anything is possible and being with his brother is more important than anything else in his life.
” when the queen finds out you’ve kept a kid with cancer waiting she’s gunna do you.”

This shows that Colin has realised that even if he had to attack a guard at buckingham palace just so his brother could be cured and shows that he has learnt to more selfless and less selfish .

Colin learns that being selfish doesn’t help anyone but when you are selfless and do anything to help your cause that anything is possible.
